What type of stabilizer should I use for embroidery?

It depends on your fabric. Cut-away stabilizer is best for stretchy or knit fabrics, tear-away works well on stable woven fabrics, and wash-away is ideal for projects where no stabilizer should remain visible, like freestanding lace.

Do I need stabilizer for quilting as well as embroidery?
