Batting Cut by the Yard

Need batting for one quilt without buying a package or a roll? Cut-by-the-yard batting comes off our shop rolls at the exact length you order — full roll width, cut to your project. Currently cutting Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 from the 96 inch roll at a per-yard price.

How many yards do I need?

Your quilt length plus 8 inches, divided by 36. A 90in-long queen top needs about 2.75 yards of 96in-wide batting.

How does it ship?

Folded or rolled and boxed. A gentle steam or a tumble in the dryer on low with a damp cloth relaxes any fold lines before basting.

Is by-the-yard cheaper than a package?

Usually, per square inch — and you get exactly the size you need with no leftovers to store.
